Absinthe - Cocktails
Cuyahoga Falls, OH
Absinthe
$30
Between 1850 - 1900, Absinthe was more popular than wine at the time when the wine industry was suffering from grape shortages. Many famous creative figures like Ernest Hemmingway, Pablo Picasso and Oscar Wilde made it their go-to drink, but it was the myths of Vincent van Gogh cutting off his ear from hallucinating on absinthe that made it eternally famous. Fear of hallucination and the pressure of the wine industry got Absinthe banned in the US and Europe during prohibition. This ban lasted over 100 years. It wasn't until 2007 that the FDA proved "The Green Fairy" to be safe to consume and allowed it into the country.
Prepared in the traditional fashion with sugar, water, fire and an absinthe fountain.
Serves up to 4 at a time.
